https://speedtest.btwholesale.com/ The BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test 0 5/5 stars ★★★★★ Hans van der Graaf

In general, the the BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test speed test is a recommended speed test, despite the fact that retesting does not work well and that the accessibility, security and usability scores are very low.

With an adverstised speed of 100 Mbps and an average measured internet speed of 101.1 Mbps, we conclude that the BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test is an accurate speed test (Accuracy score: 100/100).

The BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test is a mainstream speed test. That is, this speed test measures the advertised speed.

The BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test is owned by the BT Group PLC. Please note that BT Wholesale no longer exists. Only this speed test remains. However BT Broadband part of the BT Group (or better said EE), still refer to this speed test. Also note that BT is an abbreviation for British Telecom.

Hard to test

Since the Again button didn't produce a working speed test, we had to perform our test in a different way.

Instead of pressing the Again button to retest, we opened three tabs in the browser with the BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test homepage, by switching tabs we could easily test three times in a row.

It was impossible to test the BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test with tools like ACheckers, Observator and Wave. For example we get the following errors:

  1. Observatory: Error: The site seems to be down
  2. Wave: Oops 404 error... Page not found

Observatory thinks that the BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test is down

Wave tests a 404 error page instead of the homepage
