Particularities / In summary: This speed test gives a lot of information and has a nice interface.
Cloudflare is extremely transparent about the method by which the download speed is determined.
They state for example that they take the 90th percentile speed as measured speed.
That pretty much matches the earlier observation that
the actual download speed is 12% faster than the advertised speed.
In addition, there are clear graphs that indicate that the larger the download, the more accurate the measurement.
The only drawback of this speed test is the time it takes to complete the test. This is well above the knockout criterion of 30 seconds.
Based on that criterion Cloudflare's speed test is not recommended.
However, Cloudflare deserves an honorable mention. It is not a test for regular use, but it does provide a lot of insight.

It seems that I was wrong, so I tested Speedcheck™ after the ultimate speedtest of 2022. The results are:
